The Heights SE7 is a landmark affordable housing development in Greenwich. It consists of 45 one bedroom and 3 two bedroom Pocket homes, all rented by local first time buyers at a 20% discount.
Residents share a communal garden and a landscaped rooftop terrace with far-reaching views over the city. There is also covered secure bike storage to encourage sustainable travel.
The development is car-free, apart from two parking spaces for the wheelchair-adaptable homes, and Charlton Station is just a five-minute walk away.
Designed for city living We design Pocket homes to make use of every inch of space and maximise light. The open-plan layout includes a kitchen/living area, a wet room with a walk-in shower and a double bedroom. The sun floods in through floor-to-ceiling windows, and several of the homes are dual-aspect.
Several homes have private outdoor spaces, and every resident has access to two shared amenity areas where they can relax, exercise and get to know each other. This includes an outdoor communal area on the ground floor and a rooftop terrace that receives the afternoon and evening sun.
A nod to Charlton’s historyDesigned by London-based architects Gibson Thornley, The Heights SE7 was built on the site of a 19th-century quarry. The area is one of London’s oldest settlements, so the development draws on nearby historical buildings.
“We apply a critical design approach to each scheme, responding to a unique set of circumstances. At The Heights, this was taking a constrained and underutilised site and providing a locally responsive residential project that offers generous private and shared amenity spaces.”
